Hello All,
The Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) is holding a series of settlement planning consultations across Queensland, providing opportunities for interested individuals and groups to "tell DIMA where they see gaps in service delivery; what those gaps are; perhaps suggestions on how best to fill these gaps; what DIMA is doing wrong; what DIMA could do better;perhaps even what DIMA is doing right."
Please check details below to find out DIMIA consultations nearest to you. If you would like to attend the consultation, contact Lien on 3360 5045 or at lien.tran-smith@immi.gov.au, and please encourage anyone who has something to say about settlement issues to attend. (or even just to come along and listen).
There are 2 consultations being held in the Ipswich area - one is for service providers/workers which is on tomorrow (Friday) at 9.30am - 12.00 midday at Leichhardt Community Group Centre which is located at 1 Denman Street (corner Old Toowoomba Road), Leichhardt. The other consultation is for community members/representatives and will be on this Saturday from 10.00am to 12.30pm also at Leichardt Community Centre.
Please circulate this information to any members of the community who may be interested in attending. This is a great opportunity to find out more about DIMA and to have your say on local settlement services.
