Dutch People in the Netherlands Moving to Sth. Australia

Hello everyone! My name is Devanya: I have both the Australian (was born and raised in Australia) and Dutch Nationalities and my husband Bart is Dutch and was recently granted his permanent Australian residency. We are both in our 30's and live in Krimpen a/d IJssel (this is reason enough to emigrate!) and are planning to move to Sth. Australia (we are looking at the Adelaide Hills area) end of 2007. We have a three year old daughter who is brought up speaking Dutch and English. We would love to talk to other Dutch people who are also planning on moving to Sth. Australia in the next year or those who have already done this and to share information on what we have learned about Sth. Australia and vica versa. As we all know, it is a huge undertaking to move to another country and we would love to share stories. I would also love as an Australian to answer any questions you may have that I may perhaps know the answer to. Bart and I  would also like to keep our Dutch links when we move and hope we can form some lovely friendships that will endure in our new adventure in Australia! I look forward to hearing from you!

I am looking forward to move to South Australia too. My plane leaves on the 4th of March next year. Where I am going to settle in SA, that I do not know. I will be migrating as a single guy, so I might not fit into your profile.
But I am more than happy to share thoughts and information with you.

Hello Devanya,

We are planning to move to SA (Adelaide) also next year. Now we are very busy with completed all forms for DIMA. We want to send them just before or after Christmas.

If everything goes right we will receive our visa (SIR 495) in August/Sept 2007 and we will move at the end of next year.

It is nice to keep in contact and exchange experiences
We are 33 and 40 and living in Groningen.

Hi, how are you

I have been living in Glenelg for almost 2 months now and in Ozzie for 10 months.

If you have any specific questions about Adelaide and its suburbs. I am always happy too answer them or at least try to answer them.
2 months is maybe a short time never the less In that short time I have seen and met a lot of Adelaidians. That’s cause of my work, I have to drive around town a lot.
So in that short time I have come to know the city rather good.

Just looked up some of your topics to get to know what you're up to...
I've only seen the Adelaide airport in 2005...for a staggering hours......But as the family says: we've been to Adelaide as well!!!
