Hoi allen, er is iets vreemd gaande in de Territories. In tegenstelling tot de staten mogen we hier niet onze eigen wetgeving maken omtrent zaken als euthanasie en equal marriage rights. Northern Territory had in de 90’s Euthanasie ingevoerd maar de Howard government zag dat niet zitten dus is er een wet ingevoerd dat Territories geen eigen zeggenschap hebben (ACT had ook al eerder equal marriage rights maar ook dit werd terug gedraaid onder Abbott)
Nu mijn vraag, aangezien er weer actie is om de Territories hun eigen recht terug te geven graag jullie hand tekening!

I am writing to you because the debate has now reached the Federal Parliament. On Tuesday next week the Senate will debate—and vote on—the Leyonhjelm Bill to restore Territory rights. This is the best chance we have had—and may have for some time—to get our rights restored.

- Given there are only 4 ACT and NT Senators combined, we need the support of the State Senators to make this happen. While numbers are looking good, we can’t be complacent. If you haven’t already, please encourage your interstate family and friends to write to their State Senators stressing that all Australians should have the same rights on this, no matter where they live. It’s easy to write to Senators through this form.
