We are pleased to announce that the Netherlands Consulate-General in Sydney will organise a Pop-up Passport desk in Brisbane on 11,12,13 April, 2023.
Appointments for NL passport and ID card applications are now open.
The link to our appointment system can be found as followed:
- Go to our website:

- Go to step 3: Make an appointment
- Select Sydney and click on “Make an appointment online with
the consulate-general in Sydney”
- Click on “Schedule Appointment”
- Select Application Category: Passport-ID card in Brisbane
If it shows a data base error, please click on the upper left arrow to proceed to April.
For technical assistance, please email SYD-CA@minbuza.nl and clearly mention your full name, date of birth, email address, (mobile) phone number and availability.
Please note that (since August 2021) we charge an additional service fee of €23.60 for pop-up passport desks, to be paid together with the applicable consular fees, in AUD.
If you are in need of a NL passport or ID card prior to our visit to Brisbane, kindly book an (online) appointment at the Netherlands Consulate-General in Sydney or the offices of our external service provider VFS Global in Perth or Melbourne, where you can apply all year round.
Finally, please keep in mind that our consular team is travelling from Sydney. Last-minute changes/cancellations due to unforeseen events, travel restrictions or weather, may occur.
The Consulate-General will not accept any liability or refund (travel)costs to customers for any appointments that must be cancelled due to events out of our control.

Gekke vraag, kan ik mijn NL paspoort daar nog verlengen als ik in Maart citizen van AU wordt? Hoe weet NL dat je AU citizen bent? Is hier al wel eens besproken geloof ik, maar ben het even kwijt.

Kweenie zeker, maar als je de formulieren voor een nieuwe NL paspoortaanvraag invult, staat daar volgens mij een vraag in of je nog andere nationaliteiten hebt.

Dat zou een logische vraag zijn ja, die het gelijk duidelijk maakt hoe of wat. En laten we niet jokken op dat soort formulieren.

Het was ook meer een exercitie van het brein dan een serieus idee ;)

Als je dit lijstje even doorfietst, dan zie je dat je er 2 vragen over krijgt. 1 of je buitenlandse ID's hebt (die heb je, je hebt een Australisch rijbewijs) en 2 of je nog andere nationaliteiten hebt:

Dien je niet je paspoort te vernietigen/in te leveren als je de nationaliteit kwijt bent? Daar staat me iets van bij namelijk. Dan kan je wel je paspoort verlengen, maar dan is die na de ceremonie niks meer waard :D

The consular team from Sydney is planning to visit the following cities with a pop-up passport desk:
Adelaide: in the week of 1 to 5 May
Canberra: in the week of 19 to 23 June
Brisbane: in the week 18 to 22 September
Adelaide: in the week of 9 to 13 October
The exact dates will be confirmed when the appointment system is opened.

Pop-up Passport Desk Brisbane
Due to high demand, the Consulate-General is pleased to announce an extra Pop-up Passport desk in Brisbane 31 October – 2 November 2023.
How to make an appointment:
Please send an email to syd-nat@minbuza.nl with the following information:
- Full name of all individual applicants/family members
- Date of birth of the applicant(s)
- Your availability on Tuesday 31 October, Wednesday 1 November and Thursday 2 November 2023
- Mobile phone number
- Email address
Applicants who were already on the waiting list for our last visit, will receive an appointment confirmation via e-mail this week.
Please note that there will be an additional service fee of €23.60 for consular pop-up desks, to be paid together with the applicable consular fees, in Australian dollars. You can find further information consular fees here: https://www.netherlandsworldwide.nl/consular-fees/australia

Blijft altijd een beetje apart om te lezen dat NL Consulaat Canberra gaat bezoeken (waar de NL ambassade gewoon zit...)
