The 2021 Census of the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveals the number of Australians born in the Netherlands or with Dutch ancestry. The census concludes that there are 66,481 persons (0.26%) born in the Netherlands and 381,947 (1.5%) of Dutch descent currently living in Australia.
Victoria has the largest Dutch population with 109,264 people with Dutch ancestry and 18,477 inhabitants who were born in the Netherlands.
Tasmania has 11, 839 inhabitants (2.12%) of Dutch ancestry and 2,136 citizens (0.38%) who were born in the Netherlands. This means that out of the Australian states and territories, Tasmania has relatively the largest Dutch population.
In New South Wales, 87,088 inhabitants consider themselves as having Dutch ancestry, and 15,777 people were born in the Netherlands.
