Hoi iedereen, ik zit in een pickle, mijn zoon (20jaar oud) wil samen met mij verhuizen naar Brisbane, Australië. Ik zelf heb een permanent residency (subclass BF111), maar mij zoon is in NL geboren. Hij wil studeren in Australië, als hij volgend jaar is afgestudeerd hier in NL in Juni. Ik zou willen verhuizen December/Januari 2026/27

Sponsor ik mijn zoon?
Kan hij mee op mijn visa?
Moet hij zelf een visa aanvragen anders?zo ja, welke?
Joe zit het met studeren daar? International student, misschien? 🤷🏼‍♀️
Ik zie de bomen niet meer door het bos op de immi site namelijk.

Ik zie wel op die site.. dat de duur voor een child application tot 28 maanden kan duren 😳. En een study visa…. Maar tot 4 maanden 🤯. Hij wil wel studeren daar… wat is wijsheid 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ha, nog niet gewend aan de doorlooptijden van visa, denk ik. Ik heb 3 jaar moeten wachten op permanent residency, en vervolgens nog 2 jaar op citizenship. Je zoon zal een lange adem nodig hebben onder sponsorship.

Waarom ga je niet gewoon voor de:

Née. Idd niet gewend…. Maar we komen er wel. Thanks 🙃☺️
 
Als jouw zoon via jou een PR kan krijgen zou ik altijd daarvoor gaan, zeker als hij wil gaan studeren. Op een study visa betaal je voor een international student en de fees zijn dan een stuk hoger. Je bent dan gauw $50000 per jaar kwijt voor een jaar (universitaire studie). Overigens zijn de fees als PR ook niet mis, een stuk hoger dan in NL.

Ok. Mijn zoon moet even goed na denken of hij definitief wil mee komen, ik sponsor hem dan via mijn permanent residency, ik zag dat een migration officer nodig is, hebben er mensen hier goede ervaringen of recommendations?

Nodig niet, aangeraden wel als je niet de tijd hebt om zelf te duiken in alle regels.

Wellicht goed om even de terminologie helder te krijgen? Ik weet niet 100% zeker welke rol je bedoelt. Er zijn twee die je zou kunnen bedoelen denk ik.

1. Immigration Officer:
Immigration Officers examine and assess the entry of people from other countries, administer visas and residency applications according to immigration legislation, rules and policies, and, where necessary, use legal powers to detain and remove illegal entrants. 2. Imigration Agent:
Only certain people can help you with your visa application. This help is called immigration assistance. If you appoint someone to give you immigration assistance, they must be either:
  • a registered migration agent
  • <>

You don't have to use a migration agent to apply for a visa. If you do, you should check OMARA Register to find a registered migration agent. See Register of Migration Agents.

A registered migration agent cannot:
  • fast-track the processing period
  • guarantee you a visa

De eerste krijg je vanzelf toegewezen ergens in het visa process, en beoordeelt je aanvraag. (werkt voor de Australian government)

De tweede assisteert je met je aanvraag (werkt voor jou) en dat is wat Zwerver aangaf. Kan handig zijn, maar is niet verplicht. Wij hebben een agent gebruikt indertijd, maar het is zeker niet verplicht en indien het een eenvoudige aanvraag is soms ook helemaal niet nodig.
