Recognised Countries
If you are an existing licence holder from a recognised country, no tests are required to apply for a car or a motorcycle licence in Victoria.
You need to go to a VicRoads Customer Service Centre with:
your overseas licence*
proof of identity and
pay the licence fee.
*If your overseas licence is not in English, you will need to supply an official translation. An official translation can be obtained from your country of origin's Licensing Authority, your consulate in Australia, the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), or you can use an International Driving Permit.
