Hi,
This might be a post that you might not be able to do much with, but still....
133.000 immigrants enter Australia per year. The major part of them move to South East Queensland.
SE Queenland, the north of NSW and other parts of Australia are struggling with water shortage. There is talk about using grey water for gardening in the Brisbane area.
The Brisbane infrastructure is struggling as it is. Brisbane is actually growing faster than Sydney.
If I'm correct the first desalination plant has been given the all clear to be built. But, it will take another 2 years before it will be finished.
Although Toowoomba has voted NO against recycled sewage water, it will happen.
Don't come here thinking life is brilliant. Collecting your washing machine's water with buckets to water the garden is NOT charming. Driving a dusty car (okay, I can use a watering can to wash it) is NOT flash.
In the end, the effort (AND the money to implement changes) will have to come from anybody who lives here or who visits this country.
So we don't have the infra structure nor the water for 133.000 immigrants, but the general idea is; we need young people.
And I didn't even mention the political bickering about the above problems
Just think about it, and have a good day
Irene
