Rot voor jullie dat het zo'n afscheid is geworden. helemaal omdat we weten dat jullie er zo'n hekel aan hebben.

wel fijn om te horen dat de vlucht goed is verlopen, behalve dan de extra bij betaling van bagage.
Katrina, hoe was het om weer bij je moeder te zijn????

Helaas maken we dat allemaal door als we de grote stap wagen, we kunnen nu eenmaal niet de mensen van wie we houden onder onze arm meenemen... Was dat maar waar!
Ik heb helemaal over het hoofd gezien dat jullie allebei met een aparte maatschappij zijn gevlogen! Wat goed uitgekiend zeg! Wel balen van die 240 euries voor 5 kilo, zijn ze gek geworden ofzo!

Geniet maar lekker van elkaar en het zal voor Katrina in ieder geval geweldig zijn om weer herenigd met haar moeder te zijn! En zo heb jij er toch ook weer een mams bij?!

Heel veel plezier en tot ziens hier in Brissie!!

Hi Ya boys & girls,

Just a little bit of advise..... do not go to medicare or get your victorian drivers license in the first week after you arrive.... because they will sent you back with nothing.

Today I went to medicare, the lady that helped us was very nice, she told me straight away that I had to wait two weeks before DIMIA sents your information through to them. So if I please could come back in 2 weeks time and fill in a form.  :-(
Ofcourse when it rains it poors so I went to VIC roads to get my drivers license, first had to wait 45 mins before being served and then the guy told me, well if you come back at 13:00 hrs you'll be laughing and you'll get your license straight away. No probs I thought and we waited for another hour. Then ofcourse we went to the appointed counter and there it began....  the lady that was helping us was a bit of a bitch... she didn't even say hi. Then she begain.... please fill in this form and then comeback.... so I filled in the form and then went back to her.... and she just kept going on about we need proof of your address her in oz, so Katrina wrote a statement and she showed her drivers license... but no that wasn't enough so 45 minutes later she told me to come back when my medicare card came through or when I have my first bank statement. This really pissed me of... and honest as I am I told the lady that...! :x
That she stuffed me arround and that she could have told me when I got in.... so I could have gone to the bank to get that sorted and that I now lost 2 and a hlf hours hanging arround at vicroads....! She appoligized then and asked me to hold on to the paperwork and come by again as soon as I have a medicare card or bank statement.

So just for you who are still going.... take your time... don't arrange anything for your driverslicense or medicare until the second week after your arrival.... :wink:

Further... everything is good, love to be here and Katrina is so happy, she can understand everybody and she is with her dog and her mum... she couldn't ask vor more.... :up:

Good that you enjoy yourself. I hope I will get my Visa soon and since I would like to come to Melbourne as well I would then come and visit you if that's okay. Off course, at that time you are also more then welcome to visit me as well.

Not many ppl ( people ) realise , that i can't type in dutch and can not really understand it  and it's a shame , as this is also my topic , not only Koens :cry: :cry: :-(

We went on different planes because , if Koen would have gone on my he would of had to pay another 1,000 Euro's more  for a one way ticket . As i already had a return ticket , so i couldn't and different want to pay more to go with him on his flight ( Singapore airlines )

I every happy in a way to be home , seeing my baby dog Freckle.Walking  hime , feeding him and just playing around with him .I know Koen is happy to see him to .

Koen, what a BS at medicare!! With me they gave me a number (no card) and that number I could use whenever I needed a docter in the meantime they checked with the DIMIA...
And for the driverslicence.... halelujah! I know what your going through! I had similar problems with the evidence... Especially the names on the passport were a problem. Still don't have the licence... But now I finally have a TFN, and passport is translated... So nothing can get in the way! ( :-D yeah right!!)
Australia is a GREAT country, but there is a lot of red tape! :-D

@Lin, yes you now have to practise your writing skills in English, which shouldn't be a hard thing to do since you have been living here for a while, and don't worry about the spelling mistakes, we make plenty as well... :up:

Why did you have to translate your paspoort Lin??? Anyway, My TFN was arranged very quickly, and we now have to wait 28 days befor I have it officially, but I already have a temparary number, it was quite easy to apply for it, you can do it through the internet.... :up:
As soon as we have a some mail in our PObox We will go back to vicroads and get my license, and then next week back to medicare. I know they will have things sorted then.
Next saturday or sonday we hope to fly up to Airlie Beach and settle the wedding arrangements and I hope to meet up with a old friend of mine which I haven't seen in 14 years. After that we hope to fly to brisbane and meet up with you (Lin) & Sander.... would be nice to finally get the chance to talk a bit longer to ya. :-D

Anyway, after that we will have to find jobs and see how we go from there, but it will be all good... :wink: I'll just keep my very happy spirit up.  :up:

I have to translate my passport because the Netherlands forgot to translate e/v -echtgenote van (spouse of)  :x
In the Netherlands for a women a passport is always written on her maiden name. But I live ofcourse on Sanders surname. So confusion for the people at the Department of Transportation here in QLD. Even a translated wedding certificate is not enough. And they refuse to make a phonecall to the Dutch Consul.
I was furious the last time I was there. All the evidence in order. But hmmmmm e/v?? :x :x :x

We look forward meeting up with you guys again! The last time in Tilburg we didn't speak to each other that long!

Wow! What a house! It's Katrina's parents house I guess? Nice doggie ;) Why is his name Freckles? Because of the little spots on his nose? He's cute :)

Sometimes it's really hard to keep my chin up when I read all the stories and see all the pictures ;) We still have to wait another year before we can go... at least a year I think.

But guess what... Today, in three months, we can start again (officially) with the skills assessment!
